Ranking 11 of the Fast Food Hamburger Chains

Ranking 11 of the Fast Food Hamburger Chains
I love a nice, juicy burger just as much as anyone. Even though Fast Food might not be the best compared to one of my Mom's homemade burgers, some of them are actually pretty legit. I will inform you guys that some of these I didn't include because they either didn't really fit in for Fast Food, such as Mighty Fine. Mighty Fine is my favorite Burger restaurant, but it doesn't fit in this ranking. Some other places missing are Steak 'N' Shake, White Castle, Crystal, P. Terry's, Jacks, and Shake Shack. Carl's Jr/Hardee's aren't in here either, just because I have never been before (sorry). But anyways, even if a place is cheaper than another, like McDonald's compared to In 'N' Out, even though it might be more convenient, I won't really take that into affect. I'm not going to just be ranking the burgers, I will take sides and desserts to affect. Anyways, lets get started for top 11 burger restaurants in the US.

11. Sonic
Some people might be surprised to see Sonic this low, but I have actually been here pretty recently, and it is not as good as remembered. The fast food has never been great, especially the Burgers. The Hot Dogs are decent, and the Corn Dogs, but those foods aren't great when given in fast food anywhere, so that doesn't really help their case. The mozzarella sticks are probably one of their best menu items. But the main thing we think about when it comes to Sonic is their shakes and ice cream. But it kind of is lame now. All the slushes are way too overpowering, and the shakes are kind of gross and not as good as they should be and as they sound. They never add in enough of the main mixture, whether its Oreo's or Peanut Butter. I ordered an Oreo Peanut Butter shake, and I got a thick custard with some peanut butter on top and small bits of Oreo's occasionally place throughout the sundae. I was really not worth it, and that is what Sonic is known for. So that's why Sonic is in last place. I do like their advertising agency, with those two sarcastic white 40 year old guys who are way too skinny for how much Sonic they have been eating.
10. Burger King
Now I want to get one thing straight: The whopper is good. It is a good burger. I like it better than McDonald's best burger, the Big Mac. However. That is it. When I think of Burger King, I only think of the Whopper. Nothing else is that good. The ice cream is bad, the fries are lame, I don't think their is breakfast. This restaurant just doesn't have much. Now, too be fair, they are called Burger King. They aren't supposed to have something else besides Burgers. The only reason McDonald's ranks ahead of Burger King is because they have more options and better overall food. But Burger King's overall Whopper is a pretty good Hamburger.

9. McDonald's
McDonald's is hard for me to rank. The classic fast food restaurant. It is well-known for being very easy to access. It is super cheap, offers a wide range of menu items, and is the most spread-out and well known fast food restaurant in America. But the food quality just isn't great. Their really cheap burgers and cheeseburgers are gross, the quarter-pounder and big mac are pretty good actually, but everything else is kinda lame. The fries are bad, the ice cream good, the sundaes gross, sides bad. The breakfast is actually not that terrible, but overall this restaurant just isn't that good. But you know what, its really cheap and not the worst out there.
8. Jack In The Box
Until a couple of days ago, I had only been to Jack In The Box a couple of times, but it wasn't that bad. My hopes weren't very high or low, but I thought it was fine. They have decent dessert options, especially there shakes, the Oreo shake to be precise. I love curly fries, and overall the sides were pretty good. But similar to McDonald's and Burger King, it tastes pretty artificial and greasy. They aren't terrible, but not great either. The ad agency is good I guess. But overall for me, Jack In The Box is below average.
7. Wendy's
I actually find Wendy's pretty good, and underrated. The burgers are good, and a good price also. In my opinion the best way to go is the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger. The fries are kind of bad, but not horrible. Chicken Nuggets are pretty tasty and are better than credited for. Together, the 4 for 4 meal is a great deal. Overall, this is just a fun fast food restaurant with a good price, taste, and quality. And of course the frosty's are fantastic, whether it is Chocolate or Vanilla. Wendy's is in the middle of the pack because even though it's pretty good, there still isn't a lot of variety or excitement. That's why Dairy Queen is ahead.
6. Dairy Queen
Overall when it comes to the fast food aspect of it, I actually prefer Wendy's over Dairy Queen. Dairy Queen's food has never been very great. The Fries are find, Chicken is good, better than most fast food Hamburger restaurants. But the actual Burgers have never been that good to me. They aren't bad, but besides being bigger, I prefer Wendy's. However. Their is a reason Dairy Queen stands out: The dessert. Dairy Queen has many more options than Wendys, whether you want a normal Ice Cream Cone, a Blizzard, there are so many fantastic options. Of course, we all miss the Orange Julius, but still, if you are looking for some cheap, good ice cream, Dairy Queen is the place to go.
 5. Freddy's SteakBurgers
There is a good chance you have never heard about Freddy's. They are one of the smaller burger chains on this list, so you might not be familiar. But they are pretty good. They sell Custard and Steak-burgers. The Fries and Chicken are all good, and the Patty Melts are great. The burgers are delicious, and the custard is great. I wish there were some more options for the main meal, but the dessert overall is great. The quality of this restaurant is fantastic. Their is a big jump up from DQ to Freddy's. Every restaurant for the rest of this list is great.
 4. Five Guys
I came into eating Five Guys with really high hopes, I've only been there once. I knew it was supposed to be one of the best Burger places around. But maybe it was the delivery, or something else, but I wasn't that great. I was expecting something like Mighty Fine, but it wasn't that great. The fries were over hyped, the burger wasn't the best. Now, let me say, it was still pretty great and delicious. It is probably my fault because I came into it with such high expectations. But for the price it's given, I don't think it was worth it. I would like to try it again someday with lower expectations and maybe eating in since it was in the car for a while, but for now, Five Guys is in 4th place. I haven't tried any milkshakes from Five Guys, but I'm sure they're good.
3. Whataburger
Alright, I might be a little bias here considering I am from Texas, but I personally think Whataburger hits the spot. The normal Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers are fantastic. The fries are great, the chicken is also really good, whether you're getting Chicken Tenders, Nuggets, or a Chicken Sandwich. I feel guilty because whenever I go to fast food Hamburger restaurants, I always get a burger, not anything with Chicken, but I do remember Whataburger having pretty good Chicken. Also with the Fries, I don't really judge Fries very differently from one another, most fast food fries taste pretty similar to me. But anyways, I think Whataburger is really good. They have a catchy name, delicious food, and the dessert is also really good. The shakes are fantastic. Whataburger hits number 3 on my list.
2. Culver's
Now wait a minute: Culver's is amazing. It is delicious. Same as the others I don't have a lot of experience with the Chicken, but I do think the Fries are fantastic, they are Crinkle Cut, and have the same amount of flavor but they don't feel really greasy or artificial. They serve Steak-burgers, to be precise, Butter-burgers, which are delicious. The Cheese Curds are even better than the Fries, in my opinion the best Cheese Curds/Mozzarella Sticks at any restaurant. They also sell great Ice Cream, and Custard. I like a restaurant with a good all-around game. Culver's is the definition of it. When I want a good Hamburger, great sides, and good dessert, I hit up Culver's. They were very close to being Number 1 for me. If you have never been, go. Now.
1. In-N-Out
As much as I want to put Culver's number one, I just can't. In-N-Out has the best Hamburgers. Lets go around. In-N-Out has great sauces. In-N-Out doesn't even have Chicken, so check that off the list. Part of the reason I like In-N-Out a lot is because it is so simple. You go there, you get a Hamburger. You don't have to worry about what you get, it is an old-fashioned, reliable Hamburger joint. They do have a secret menu if you want to get crazy, especially the Animal Style Fries or Burger, that is doing it right. The shakes are still pretty simple, but sometimes they have special deals. The dessert has premium, fantastic Ice Cream. And the burgers. The sauce is fantastic. The vegetables; lettuce, tomatoes, onions are all great. The cheese doesn't taste artificial. The meat is grilled beautifully. Overall, these Burgers are fantastic and very reliable, and this is an all-around, delicious restaurant.
I am not going to lie, Culver's was almost number one on this list. But when I thought about it, I had to put In-N-Out number one, because in the end, I'm ranking Burgers, and In-N-Out has the best Hamburgers on this list. I hope you enjoyed this weeks blog, I haven't posted in a while because I have been busy with school starting. Hope you guys are staying safe, and healthy. And remember, if I ranked one of your places high or low, sorry. Just my opinion. I encourage you to try out some of the top ones on this list, and probably avoid the bottom ones. Anyways, I'll catch you later. Lucas Harman, Hamburger expert.
Out.
